A lot of Memphis patients find it quicker to drive south than to cross town. Our Southaven office is just past the state line on Goodman Road, with parking at the door and no hospital campus to navigate. You see the same foot and ankle surgeon at every visit — Dr. Michael G. Lyons or Dr. Robert J. Wenzler — which matters most when a wound needs watching week to week.
Plenty of South Memphis patients find it faster to drive to Southaven than to cross town to a Memphis hospital campus. Our office has surface parking at the door, short waits, and the same board-certified surgeons at every visit — not a rotating roster.
Memphis patients most often come to us for diabetic wound care and limb salvage, second opinions on recommended amputations, bunion and hammertoe surgery, and heel pain that has not responded to months of treatment elsewhere.
Getting here: South Memphis, Whitehaven, and Hickory Hill patients reach our Southaven office in about 15–20 minutes via I-55, Getwell, or Elvis Presley Boulevard. We regularly see patients from Shelby County, Tennessee, including the Whitehaven, Graceland, Hickory Hill, the I-55 and Getwell corridors areas.

- Wound care and limb salvage. Diabetic foot ulcers and non-healing wounds often benefit from frequent, consistent follow-up. We debride, offload, treat infection, and arrange circulation studies when blood flow is part of the picture. - The same surgeon each visit. The doctor who examines you is the doctor who operates, if it comes to that. Both are board-certified in foot and ankle care, and Dr. Wenzler has additional fellowship training in external fixation and reconstruction.
- Straightforward access. Ground-level parking outside the door, no garage, no long walk through a concourse. That is not a small thing when your foot hurts.
- Bunions, heel pain, and injuries too. Not everything is a wound. We also handle bunions including Lapiplasty, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis, sprains, fractures, and toenail problems.

How long the drive takes
Traffic on I-55 and Getwell changes things, so treat these as typical off-peak times rather than promises:
- Whitehaven — often 10 to 15 minutes down Elvis Presley Boulevard or I-55.
- South Memphis — usually 15 to 20 minutes on I-55.
- Hickory Hill — generally 20 to 25 minutes via Getwell Road or Winchester to Goodman Road.
